Bookham & Leatherhead Branch is the local presence of the RNLI: the charity that saves lives at sea and on the River Thames.
Every day people of all backgrounds get into difficulty in the water. Our mission is to rescue those at risk from drowning where we can and to work with partners and communities to spread information to encourage the safe enjoyment of water and to help everyone avoid its dangers.
As a charity we are separate from the Coastguard and independent of the Government – we rely on our volunteers and supporters to run this lifesaving service.
The Bookham & Leatherhead Branch exists to raise funds to pay for the equipment and training our crews need and to undertake this vital education work in our local community, particularly with children. Each year, we raise approaching £15,000 and deliver water safety messages to some 20,000 children over a wide area.
We are a small branch and we need your support to be able to carry out this vital work. There is more detail about what we do below and there are lots of opportunities for you to help.
